Shoulder Mounts
Make initial cut 3-4 inches behind the shoulder following all the way around the torso as shown. When field dressing never cut above the rib cage and DO NOT CUT ABOVE THE THROAT. Be careful not to cut the skin. Then make a straight cut down the middle of the back as shown until you reach the first cut you made arount the middle of the animal. Now ring all the way around the elbow joint on the front legs, then sock the hide over the legs. Finally, skin from cut made down the back toward the belly, cutting where illustrated, socking out legs and working your way up toward base of the skull. Store your animal on ice or freeze it; we will finish caping it off the head.
Life-size Small Mammals:
You do not have to gut a small mammal such as squirrels, bobcats, fox, etc. We prefer to cape your life-size trophy.
Fish:
DO NOT GUT your fish. Wrap it in a wet towel and then freeze in a plastic bag.
Birds:
DO NOT CUT OR GUT your birds. Simply freeze in a plastic bag, such as, a large Ziploc. Tuck the birds head under the wing first. You may also first put them in a old nylon stocking to keep feathers smoother.
Replicas:
If you are wanting a replica of an animal done, please take detailed photos, record length and girth measurements.
